Many soon-to-be newlyweds had to make challenging decisions such as to cancel or postpone their wedding amidst the unforeseen circumstances caused by the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. However, Heather and Ryan decided to continue with their wedding date as originally planned but with considerable adjustments such as change in location and use of technology, to ensure their dream day still became a reality.
Despite the fact this couple planned a big wedding with friends and family at the Blennerhassett Hotel, they opted for Heather’s parents’ backyard. The new location consisted of attendance by immediate family members and a few close friends.
“I don’t want to wait, just want to be married,” said Heather when justifying her desire to tie the knot with Ryan. About a week prior to their wedding, the pair made an announcement on Facebook that their wedding ceremony would be live-streamed. Heather explained, “this is going to be very simple and basic, so please don’t judge our backyard wedding, lol. Please pray for good weather because we are planning on doing it outside and don’t really have a back-up plan.”
This addition of modern day technology made it so all other friends and family members who were unable to attend their wedding could still be a part of the memorable day. The ceremony started at 4 pm, and 10 minutes later, Heather and Ryan were announced as wife and husband followed by cake cutting. They looked content and joyful!
There have been a lot of factors for them to think about in the last four weeks leading up to their wedding, and tough decisions when deciding which actions to take in order to make their plans work. It is unfortunate to think about all of the couples who had their dream weddings planned out, and then who would have thought this pandemic would sweep in and impact upcoming nuptials? Kudos to Heather and Ryan for being adaptable during difficult circumstances, yet making safe and smart decisions that led to an outcome they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The now happily married duo is planning to have a party sometime next year at the Blennerhassett Hotel, the place where their original plans were made.
